Pirate Software Kicked Out of OnlyFangs World of Warcraft Guild

Pirate Software has been ousted from the World of Warcraft streamer guild, OnlyFangs, following a disastrous run in Dire Maul North. This dungeon, recently introduced to the World of Warcraft Anniversary servers, has already led to several Hardcore deaths within the guild.

Before the official launch of Hardcore servers in August 2023, players had been crafting their own zero-death challenges. However, interest in these servers waned until the Anniversary servers were launched in November 2024, revitalizing the World of Warcraft Classic community and drawing players away from the original Classic servers. These new servers have seen numerous Hardcore deaths, with some players successfully reaching level 60 despite the stringent rules. Among the recent casualties from OnlyFangs are Sara and Snupy, and Guild Master Sodapoppin has taken decisive action against the player deemed responsible.

Multiple social media posts have confirmed that Pirate Software was removed from OnlyFangs by Sodapoppin, who issued a statement via Discord. The statement revealed that a significant number of guild members felt uneasy about continuing to play with Pirate Software after the deaths of Sara and Snupy during a Dire Maul North run. The incident occurred when the group pulled a boss prematurely, before dealing with a pack of Gordok ogres. When a party member suggested retreating to reset the enemies, Pirate Software left the group during the escape. Despite the possibility of remaining in the guild under normal circumstances, Pirate Software's refusal to accept responsibility for the mishap led to his removal. A video documenting the incident is available here, though it contains strong language.

Why Pirate Software Was Kicked From OnlyFangs

The main grievance against Pirate Software was his unwillingness to accept blame for the Hardcore deaths, exacerbated by his ineffective use of crowd control abilities. In a review of the dungeon run, Sodapoppin highlighted that Pirate Software could have utilized Blizzard rank 1 to manage the dangerous enemies more effectively without exhausting his mana. Other guild members, including Mizkif, have also cited Pirate Software's threats to fellow streamers post-incident as a contributing factor to his expulsion. Pirate Software took to Twitter to express his discontent, suggesting that the situation was mishandled.

Since the guild's recreation on the Anniversary server Doomhowl, several members have been removed, and some may form their own groups. As Blizzard continues to update World of Warcraft Classic with Vanilla-accurate patches, the community can expect more challenging content, potentially leading to additional Hardcore deaths in new dungeons and raids.
