Technical Difficulties Hinder Switch Port

In a recent interview, Mizobe discussed the complexities of bringing Palworld to the Switch, citing significant technical challenges. While discussions about future platforms are ongoing, no concrete announcements regarding a Switch release are currently available.

The game's demanding PC specifications pose a considerable obstacle to a successful Switch port. Mizobe acknowledges these technical limitations as the primary reason for the uncertainty surrounding a Switch release. He hasn't ruled out other platforms like PlayStation or mobile, but no decisions have been finalized. Earlier this year, he confirmed that platform expansion is under consideration. Importantly, Mizobe also stated that Pocketpair is open to partnerships or acquisitions, but has not engaged in buyout talks with Microsoft.

Future Vision: More 'Ark' and 'Rust' Influences

Beyond platform plans, Mizobe highlighted ambitions to enhance Palworld's multiplayer capabilities. An upcoming arena mode, described as an experiment, will lay the groundwork for future PvP experiences. Mizobe expressed a desire to incorporate elements reminiscent of popular survival games like Ark and Rust, focusing on competitive and collaborative gameplay within challenging environments.

Impressive Launch and Upcoming Update

Palworld, Pocketpair's creature-collecting and survival shooter, has enjoyed a remarkable launch, selling 15 million copies on PC within its first month and attracting 10 million players on Xbox Game Pass. A significant update, including a new island and the much-anticipated PvP arena, is set to launch on Thursday with the free Sakurajima update.
