In the captivating world of Pocketpair's Palworld, players have been hooked since its record-breaking launch in January 2024, thanks to its expansive open-world exploration. The game's massive Feybreak DLC has further enriched the experience by introducing a plethora of new crafting materials, allowing players to enhance their characters and Pal bases with cutting-edge technology.

Among these materials, Dark Fragments stand out as a particularly elusive yet crucial resource. Distinct from the more common Paldium, Dark Fragments are vital for crafting high-end accessories. If you're exploring Feybreak, hunting for these fragments should be high on your list.

How to Get Dark Fragments in Palworld

To collect Dark Fragments in Palworld, focus your search on Dark-elemental Pals found exclusively on the island of Feybreak. Note that Dark Fragments won't drop from Dark-elemental Pals in other regions of the game. You'll need to venture inland from the outer beach and gravel areas, which are dominated by ground and water types, to encounter these elusive Pals. For instance, Starryon can only be found at night, unless it's a boss variant.

Upon capturing or defeating these Pals using your preferred weapon and Pal Sphere (Ultimate or Exotic Spheres are recommended), you can expect to obtain an average of 1-3 Dark Fragments per encounter. Keep in mind that drops aren't guaranteed with every capture or kill, so maximizing your encounters with Dark Pals will be key to amassing a good supply of Dark Fragments.

Here's a list of Dark-elemental Pals on Feybreak that drop Dark Fragments, including their drop rates:

Pal NameDrop Rate
Starryon1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul1-2 x Dark Fragments
Splatterina2-3 x Dark Fragments
Dazzi Noct1 x Dark Fragment
Kitsun Noct1-2 x Dark Fragments
Starryon (Midnight Blue Mane; Boss)1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Starryon (Predator Pal)1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul (Hundred-Faced Apostle; Boss)1-2 x Dark Fragments

Kitsun Noct (Guardian of the Dark Flame; Boss)1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Omascul (Predator Pal)1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Splatterina (Predator Pal)2-3 x Dark Fragments

While less reliable, you might also stumble upon single Dark Fragments scattered around Feybreak. Thorough exploration is encouraged, but be mindful of your ammo reserves, as you'll need them for tougher challenges like the island's formidable Tower Boss, Bjorn.
