Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Controllers Leaked: Images Reveal Magnetic Connection and Design

New images circulating online strongly suggest a reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con controllers is imminent. While the original Switch continues to see releases into 2025, whispers of its successor are growing louder, especially with Nintendo's confirmed announcement slated for the end of their 2024 fiscal year. Speculation surrounding the Switch 2 is reaching fever pitch, fueled by numerous leaks regarding its specifications and features, including a rumored March 2025 launch date.

Recent leaks, allegedly from a Chinese social media platform and shared on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit by user SwordfishAgile3472, offer the clearest look yet at the Switch 2's Joy-Cons. These images showcase the back and side of a left Joy-Con, confirming previous rumors of a magnetic connection system. Unlike the original Switch's rail-based design, these controllers appear to utilize magnets for attachment, eliminating the need for physical contact.

The leaked images also highlight the color scheme: primarily black with blue accents, similar to the original Switch's Joy-Con but with a different color distribution. The blue element seems to be concentrated on the connection area, while the controller itself is predominantly black. The photos also provide a glimpse of the button layout, revealing larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, plus an additional, unlabeled button on the back, potentially designed to release the magnetic connection.

This leaked Joy-Con design aligns with other circulating leaks and mockups of the Switch 2 console. However, until Nintendo provides official confirmation, the details remain speculative. The anticipation is palpable as gamers eagerly await the official unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2.
