Nintendo Switch 2 Fans Think They've Figured Out the New Physical Game Case Size

Nintendo Switch 2 fans are buzzing, but not about the console itself. The latest chatter centers on something seemingly less significant: the size of its game cases. A French retailer, Fnac, seemingly leaked the dimensions, sparking a flurry of online discussion.

As spotted by journalist Felipe Lima and reported by Nintendo Life, a Take-Two Interactive game listing on Fnac revealed the purported dimensions of the Switch 2 game case. These dimensions suggest a slightly larger box than the current Nintendo Switch.

A Reddit post by HertzBurst further fueled the speculation with a side-by-side comparison image visualizing the size difference between the two. The leaked dimensions are reportedly 5.1 inches (13 centimeters) by 7.7 inches (19.5 centimeters).

While larger than the current Switch cases, the Switch 2's cases would still be considerably smaller than those used for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 games. Although unofficial, the leak is plausible; retailers often receive product dimensions well in advance to prepare for stock and displays.

The Nintendo Switch 2 release seems imminent. While Nintendo remains tight-lipped about a specific release window, speculation points to a launch between June and September. This aligns with upcoming hands-on events concluding in June and a statement from Greedfall 2 publisher Nacon suggesting a pre-September release.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was first unveiled in January with a short trailer highlighting backward compatibility and a new USB-C port. Many details, however, remain shrouded in mystery, including its game lineup and the function of a new Joy-Con button (though the "Joy-Con mouse" theory has gained some traction).
