Nintendo Delays Japanese Alarmo Release Despite Global Availability

Nintendo has announced a postponement of the Alarmo alarm clock's general retail release in Japan due to insufficient stock. The launch, initially planned for February 2025, is now delayed indefinitely.

Production and Inventory Shortages Cause Delay

The decision to postpone stems from current production and inventory challenges, according to a statement on Nintendo Japan's website. While the global launch remains scheduled for March 2025, the impact on international stock levels is yet to be determined.

To address the immediate demand in Japan, Nintendo is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. This pre-order period is slated to begin in mid-December, with shipments expected in early February 2025. The exact pre-order start date will be announced shortly.

The Popular Nintendo Alarmo

The Alarmo, a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring iconic Nintendo melodies from franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, was released globally in October. Its unexpected popularity led to a halt in online orders and a lottery system for purchasing. The alarm clock quickly sold out in physical Nintendo stores across Japan and even in New York.
