Myst-Like Lovecraftian Point-And-Click Puzzle My Father Lied Is Coming to Android This Year

In a world brimming with video games, finding a truly unique experience can be challenging. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its compelling narrative. This mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure captivates with its intriguing story.

My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision

The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't initially aiming for game development. In 2020, he was establishing himself as a writer and filmmaker. A college friend suggested a collaborative game project, but the team disbanded, leaving the project unfinished.

Undeterred, Alameen pursued the story independently, teaching himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine to realize his vision. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.

Unraveling the Game's Narrative

The game plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, brimming with secrets, puzzles, and surprises. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far from straightforward.

Drawing inspiration from 7,000 years of Mesopotamian culture, My Father Lied blends ancient lore with modern storytelling. The puzzles are user-friendly, employing a simple point-and-click interface, complemented by stunning 2D visuals and 360-degree imagery.
