"Moon Knight to Return, No Season 2 Planned, Says Marvel Exec"

Marvel has exciting plans for Moon Knight, but a Season 2 of the Disney+ show isn't in the cards. According to Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, while fans can look forward to more of Oscar Isaac's character in the MCU, it won't be through a continuation of the series that debuted in 2022.

The reason behind this shift is a change in strategy at Marvel Television. Previously, the division aimed to introduce characters through their own TV shows, setting the stage for future crossovers. For instance, Ms. Marvel introduced Kamala Khan before her appearance in The Marvels. However, Marvel Television is now moving towards a more traditional TV model, focusing on annual releases.

Winderbaum explained, "So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."

Although Oscar Isaac lent his voice to Moon Knight in the third and final season of the animated series Marvel's What If...?, there's no confirmation yet on his return in live-action.

Looking ahead, Marvel's upcoming Disney+ TV slate includes "Daredevil: Born Again" in March, "Ironheart" in June, "Eyes of Wakanda" in August, "Marvel Zombies" in October, and "Wonder Man" in December. Meanwhile, last week, Marvel Television reportedly paused production on three shows: "Nova," "Strange Academy," and "Terror, Inc." However, Winderbaum hinted at a potential reunion of street-level heroes from "Daredevil," "Luke Cage," "Jessica Jones," and "Iron Fist," collectively known as The Defenders.
