Monster Train Launches on Android: A Slay the Spire-Style Game

Monster Train, a thrilling roguelite deck-building game, has finally made its way to Android devices. Initially launched on PC in 2020, followed by console releases and an iOS version in 2022, this game has been highly anticipated on the Android platform. Often likened to Slay the Spire due to its genre and gameplay, Monster Train offers a unique experience that sets it apart.

What Does Monster Train Bring to Android?

In Monster Train, you embark on a gripping journey on a train descending into the frozen heart of hell. Your mission is to safeguard the last burning pyre from heavenly invaders, making for an intense and strategic gameplay experience.

What distinguishes Monster Train is its innovative use of three vertical lanes. Unlike traditional games where combat occurs on a single battlefield, here you manage three lanes simultaneously, adding depth and complexity to your strategy.

As you progress, you'll unlock over 250 cards and have the opportunity to explore five distinct monster clans. Each clan has a unique playstyle, and you can combine two at a time for diverse and dynamic gameplay. Additionally, every clan features ten levels of upgrades, allowing you to strengthen your cards the more you use them. Champions, the standout units in your deck, can be upgraded multiple times, enhancing their effectiveness in battle.

The Android version of Monster Train includes all the latest updates, such as Wild Mutations and Friends & Foes. Wild Mutations introduces 35 new mutators and new difficulty settings, while Friends & Foes adds new champions, bosses, cards, and artifacts to the mix.

Moreover, The Last Divinity DLC enhances replayability with a new clan called the Wurmkin, unlocked after beating Covenant level 1. This DLC also introduces the Pact Shards mechanic, which offers power boosts and a formidable final boss, 'The Last Divinity.'

Will You Try It Out?

The Android version of Monster Train is fully playable offline, even in airplane mode, ensuring you can enjoy the game anytime, anywhere. Priced at $10, the full version is available for purchase, with in-app purchases primarily used for unlocking the complete game. Once purchased via your Google account, your progress carries over across devices thanks to cloud saves. Note, however, that there's no controller support for this version. Dive into the adventure by checking it out on the Google Play Store.
