Meta Halts Sales of Quest Pro VR Headset

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 10,2025

The Meta Quest Pro is officially discontinued. Meta's website confirms its unavailability, following earlier announcements of its impending end-of-life. Limited remaining stock may exist at retail locations, but supplies are expected to be completely depleted soon. The high price point ($1499.99) significantly hampered its adoption compared to the more affordable Meta Quest line ($299.99 - $499.99).

The recommended alternative is the Meta Quest 3, touted as the "ultimate mixed reality experience." Priced at $499, it boasts superior specs including higher resolution, refresh rate, and a more powerful processor than its predecessor. It also maintains the mixed reality functionality allowing users to overlay virtual displays onto the real world. Furthermore, the Quest 3 is lighter than the Quest Pro, enhancing user comfort. Existing Touch Pro controllers are compatible with the Quest 3. For budget-conscious consumers, the Meta Quest 3S offers a more affordable option ($299.99) with slightly reduced specifications.
