Medabot Survivors brings the beloved robot role-playing franchise to mobile devices with bullet-hell action. However, this exciting new release is currently exclusive to Japan on iOS and Android, launching February 10th. As spotted by Gematsu, this news will be bittersweet for many.

For those unfamiliar, Medabots emerged in the wake of Pokémon's popularity, a wave of Japanese franchises seeking Western markets. While some, like Digimon, achieved significant success, Medabots remained relatively niche outside of Japan. Despite this, Medabots boasts a substantial fanbase in its home country, making this mobile entry a significant event for Japanese gamers.

The "Survivors-like" genre, although popularized by Vampire Survivors, has a longer history. Medabot Survivors' release is noteworthy, showcasing the genre's global expansion. While many great Japanese games remain unavailable internationally, the success of Medabot Survivors could potentially change that. Fingers crossed for a wider release!

Awaiting Global Release

While currently Japan-exclusive, the potential for a global release exists. The game's popularity in Japan could influence a wider rollout. For now, however, Japanese players are the only ones who can experience this new take on the Medabots franchise.
