Stun the Monster

The most challenging aspect of fighting Ebony Odogaron in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is its incredible speed. To counteract this, you can stun the monster to gain a momentary advantage. Look for a nearby Flashfly to trigger, which will momentarily stun Ebony Odogaron. Alternatively, craft Flash Pods to shoot at the monster, effectively immobilizing it and giving you precious seconds to attack or regroup.

Bring Teammates

Tackling Ebony Odogaron solo can be daunting due to its relentless attacks. To improve your chances of success, consider bringing teammates into the fray. Send out an SOS signal to rally other players for assistance. If no players join, NPCs can step in as effective shields, drawing the monster's attention away from you. Use this opportunity to dodge and wait for the monster to shift its focus to your allies, allowing you to strike safely.

Pull Down Entangled Rocks

During the battle, you'll encounter areas with Entangled Rocks hanging above. Use your slinger to bring these rocks down on Ebony Odogaron, stunning it for several seconds. This tactic can only be used once per fight, so time it wisely. Additionally, deploy Pitfall and Shock Traps to immobilize the monster two more times, maximizing your damage output.

Beware of Dragonblight

Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which hampers your ability to apply elemental or status effects to your attacks. To counter this, carry Nulberries to cure Dragonblight or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate its effects.

Inflict Paralysis

Inflicting Paralysis on Ebony Odogaron is highly recommended as it immobilizes the monster temporarily, making the fight significantly easier. If you can knock the monster down over roots, it may become further entangled, giving you additional time to deal damage.

Aim for the Head

The head of Ebony Odogaron is its weakest point, boasting a 3-star weakness. Targeting the head will maximize your damage output, but be cautious as this also puts you in direct danger. If you prefer a safer approach, aim for its forelegs and tail. While these areas won't yield as much damage, you may still break its limbs, further weakening the monster.
