Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset

A recent Marvel Rivals update sparked confusion regarding a potential rank reset. While many live-service games reset ranks at the start of each season, Marvel Rivals initially planned a mid-season reset for Season 1 on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.

However, due to significant negative player feedback, NetEase Games reversed this decision. The developers announced that there will be no rank reset at the mid-season point. Players will retain their current rank and score. To earn new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the end of the season.

This demonstrates NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and provides high-ranking players with an extended period to compete.

Season 1 Mid-Season Update Content:

Beyond the absence of a rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) haven't been detailed yet.
