Lhea and the Word Spirit: A Roguelite Journey Through Life and Death

Indie developer Jo Drolet has unveiled Lhea and the Word Spirit, an upcoming single-player roguelite where players guide lost souls through enigmatic realms. Tasked with sealing the perilous In-Between, you’ll navigate the delicate balance between life and death, accompanied by an ancient Word Spirit. The game features striking minimalist visuals and an innovative timeline-based combat system.

In Lhea and the Word Spirit, players can master battles by manipulating the timeline, equipping and upgrading enchanted rings to unlock diverse spells and uncover hidden truths about the In-Between.

With its roguelite structure, each journey offers unique strategies, as procedurally generated worlds ensure no two runs are alike.

“I aimed to craft a captivating minimalist world exploring life and death, hoping players will lose themselves in a blend of surprising discoveries, strategic flow, and evocative music,” says Jo Drolet.
