Leak: Ubisoft is developing Rainbow Six Siege 2 with improved graphics

A recent leak from an insider, "fraxiswinning," suggests Ubisoft will unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled for February 14-16 at the MGM Music Hall.

This purported sequel, codenamed "Siege X," reportedly utilizes an enhanced engine, boasting upgraded visuals with revamped textures and models. Furthermore, the source claims Ubisoft plans to forgo returning temporary events from the original game in favor of entirely new experiences. The anticipated release window is mid-2025, aligning with the second season of the game's tenth year of support.

This news contradicts previous statements by Rainbow Six Siege creative director Alexander Karpazis, who previously downplayed the need for a full sequel. However, if the leak proves accurate, Ubisoft's stance appears to have shifted.

It's crucial to approach such rumors cautiously. Until official confirmation from Ubisoft, this information remains purely speculative.

The upcoming Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, Six Invitational 2025, is generating significant buzz. Twenty teams will contend in Boston for a $3,000,000 prize pool and the coveted championship title. Oxygen Esports, victors of the North American Last Chance Qualifier, secured the final qualifying spot.

The twenty-team competition represents a unique structure. While Ubisoft may retain a similar format to last year—four round-robin groups of five teams, culminating in Double Elimination playoffs—alternative formats remain a possibility.

The typical playoff structure involves a first-place bye, fourth-place entry into the lower bracket, the remaining teams entering the upper bracket, and the elimination of each group's last-place finisher.
