Keyboard and Mouse Users Face Bans in Marvel Rivals

NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. This is due to the unfair advantage provided by increased control sensitivity and aiming assistance retention, particularly in competitive modes with auto-targeting.

NetEase has implemented detection tools to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account bans for violators. The company stated that these adapters create an imbalance in gameplay, especially in competitive modes.

Separately, the game has also shown a correlation between higher FPS and increased ping. While this might be less noticeable with low ping, a jump from, for example, 90ms to 150ms can significantly impact gameplay. Until a patch addresses this issue, players are advised to experiment with their FPS settings to find an optimal balance between frame rate and ping. Some players suggest maintaining an FPS around 90, although this may seem low compared to other competitive titles.
