Author:Kristen Update:Apr 11,2025

In an exciting revelation for fans of the Jurassic Park franchise, David Koepp, the screenwriter behind the original 1993 Jurassic Park and the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth, has confirmed the inclusion of a previously unused sequence from Michael Crichton’s first Jurassic Park novel. Speaking to Variety, Koepp shared that he revisited Crichton's novels to immerse himself back into the world of dinosaurs and adventure, as Jurassic World Rebirth does not have a corresponding novel to draw from.

Koepp admitted to incorporating elements from the novels into the new film, specifically mentioning a sequence from the first book that was always intended for the original movie but was ultimately left out due to space constraints. "There was a sequence from the first novel that we’d always wanted in the original movie, but didn’t have room for," Koepp explained. "We were like, ‘Hey, we get to use that now.’"

While Koepp kept the details of the sequence under wraps, the news has sparked a flurry of speculation among fans eager to identify which scene from the novel might finally make its cinematic debut. As anticipation builds, several scenes from the book have surfaced as frontrunners in fan theories.
