Insomniac's Resistance 4 Pitch Rejected

In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Ted Price, the founder and outgoing president of Insomniac Games, revealed a fascinating tidbit about a game that never saw the light of day: Resistance 4. As Price steps into retirement after an impressive 30-year tenure at the helm of the studio, he shared that the team at Insomniac had pitched this sequel with great enthusiasm. "Yeah, I’ll share one. Resistance 4," Price mentioned, expressing the team's passion for expanding the narrative within the Resistance universe. Despite their efforts, the project did not move forward due to timing and market considerations.

The Resistance series, known for its alternate history setting where aliens invade the UK in 1951, was developed by Insomniac following their success with the Ratchet and Clank franchise. The trilogy, which was exclusive to the PlayStation 3, captivated players with its unique blend of first-person shooting and a compelling storyline involving the mysterious Chimera. Price highlighted the potential of the series, noting that "Resistance has set up a really cool alternate history base where anything can happen with the Chimera and where they go and what their origins are."

As Price prepares to retire, he announced the appointment of Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang as Co-Studio Heads to lead Insomniac into the future. The studio's most recent release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, has successfully transitioned to PC, and anticipation builds for their next project, Marvel's Wolverine.
