Hyper Light Breaker: A Comprehensive Guide to Resources

Hyper Light Breaker features seven crucial resources vital for gear acquisition, permanent upgrades, enhanced survivability, and character roster expansion. This guide clarifies how to obtain and utilize each resource. All resources are accessible via the inventory's items tab.

1. Bright Blood:

This common resource is earned by defeating enemies, destroying objects, and opening Overgrowth crates. Selling gear to Hub vendors also yields Bright Blood. Uses include:

  • Acquiring Blades and Rails from Overgrowth corpses.
  • Opening Overgrowth Stashes and crates.
  • Purchasing gear from Overgrowth and Hub vendors.
  • Upgrading gear at Hub vendors.

2. Gold Ration:

Obtained by completing Cycles (typically by depleting all four Rezes). After death, locate the NPC at the Hub's Telepad and provide requested materials to reset the Overgrowth and progress toward earning Gold Rations.

Gold Rations are key to meta-progression. They unlock permanent upgrades via Pherus Bit in the Hub and grant access to new vendor services.

3. Abyss Stone:

Earned by defeating Crowns (challenging bosses found via Overgrowth gates). Prism collection (locations marked by yellow diamonds on the map) is a prerequisite for Crown battles.

Similar to Gold Rations, Abyss Stones facilitate meta-progression. Use them to upgrade Sycom stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth.

4. Key:

Occasionally found in unmarked small containers within the Overgrowth.

Keys bypass Overgrowth barriers, granting access to Stashes and other containers. They also unlock Labs, subterranean areas containing enemies and items.

5. MediGem:

Acquired by interacting with glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. Essential for exchanging for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad and Overgrowth Shrines. Requires a Medkit capacity upgrade (using one Gold Ration at Pherus Bit).

6. Core:

A meta-progression resource found in Stashes (marked by chest icons) or crafted by combining four Core Shards. Shards are obtained from enemies that yield Prisms and unmarked lootable objects.

Cores upgrade Sycom stats during loadout confirmation, enhancing Breaker performance.

7. Material:

Primarily earned by using Bright Blood to open small chests (often marked with gems) in the Overgrowth. Selling gear at the Hub also provides Material.

Used to purchase gear from Hub and Overgrowth vendors, similar to Bright Blood but with more limited applications.
