  • NetEase's post-apocalyptic shooter, Once Human, has launched its inaugural cross-play test.
  • This test will give players a preview of how cross-progression will function when Once Human arrives on mobile in April.
  • Although it's a closed beta, it confirms that players can seamlessly switch between devices.

While NetEase's recent major success has been Marvel Rivals, the company also recently launched its eldritch co-op shooter, Once Human, on PC. A mobile version has been anticipated for some time, and it appears that promise is finally being fulfilled with the launch of Once Human's first cross-play test today.

Once Human depicts a world where humanity is scattered following a supernatural apocalypse, compelling survivors to unite. Players must explore the landscape, gather resources to rebuild society, and combat the monstrous entities that now dominate the world. However, in these desperate times, even other survivors can present significant challenges.

It's no wonder that Once Human has been so eagerly awaited, given its stunning visuals and intense horror-themed run-and-gun action. While previous beta tests have been conducted, the introduction of cross-progression is set to be a standout feature for new players. This test also offers one of the final opportunities to experience Once Human before its scheduled April launch.

ytMore human than human

The test is scheduled to run until March 30th, and registration remains open for interested participants. While Once Human may not have captured the PC audience as strongly as Marvel Rivals, its stylish shooter mechanics seem tailor-made for mobile gamers. The good news is that the wait to play on mobile is nearly over.
