As part of its impressive HP Memorial Day Sale, HP is rolling out some fantastic deals on its latest Omen Max 16 gaming laptops, now powered by the cutting-edge Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 5080 mobile graphics. The Omen Max, HP's flagship gaming laptop for 2025, is a significant upgrade from the Omen 16, featuring premium materials like an aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis and lid, along with a robust cooling system designed to handle the latest, high-performance hardware. The RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 GPUs offer substantial performance improvements over their RTX 40 series counterparts, with the RTX 5070 Ti matching the RTX 4080 and the RTX 5080 surpassing even the RTX 4090.

HP Omen Max 16" RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Laptop for $2,150

HP Omen Max 16 Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Laptop

Originally priced at $2,499.99, now available for just $2,179.99 at HP, this Omen Max 16 model comes equipped with a 16" 1920x1200 display, an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The Core Ultra 7 255HX processor boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.2GHz with 20 cores and 36MB total L2 cache, making it a top-tier choice for gaming, rivaling the performance of the Core Ultra 9 275HX.

According to Notebookcheck, the RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU is considered "the true successor to the RTX 4070", delivering performance equivalent to the RTX 4080. While the RTX 5070 falls behind, matching the RTX 4070, the RTX 5070 Ti should comfortably handle any game at its native 1920x1200 resolution.

HP Omen Max 16" RTX 5080 Gaming Laptop for $2,610

HP Omen Max 16 Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX RTX 5080 Gaming Laptop

Originally priced at $3,299.99, now available for $2,799.99 at HP, this Omen Max 16 model features a 16" 2560x1600 display, an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, GeForce RTX 5080 graphics, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The Core Ultra 9 275HX processor achieves a max turbo frequency of 5.4GHz with 24 cores and 40MB total L2 cache, making it the fastest laptop processor currently available, outperforming the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D by 7% according to Passmark.

Tom's Hardware reports that the RTX 5080 mobile GPU is 15%-20% more powerful than the RTX 4080 it replaces, and even edges out the RTX 4090 by about 5%. This GPU is not only more powerful but also offers better value than the pricier RTX 5090, being only about 15% less powerful despite a nearly $1,000 price difference. The RTX 5080 should effortlessly run new and upcoming games at high framerates on its native 2560x1600 resolution.
