"Hornet's Cloak Removal in Silksong Sparks Fan Curiosity"

Author:Kristen Update:May 20,2025

Yesterday, IGN unveiled that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available to play at an Australian museum in September 2025 and released a sprite sheet from the eagerly awaited game, sparking a flurry of reactions across the internet.

"Is there any scenario where a sprite of a naked Hornet is needed?" one user pondered in a Reddit thread analyzing the exclusive sheet.

Among the numerous images of Silksong's protagonist, Hornet, which depict her in various combat and relaxed stances, there is a notable sprite where she is casually holding her cloak under her arm. "Is this actually going to be in Silksong? Is that really her appearance?" another questioned, while a third exclaimed, "IN WHAT SITUATION WOULD THIS SPRITE BE NECESSARY?"

The conversation took a playful turn as some users reacted with humor and thirst.

"No need for mods now," one user declared confidently, while another humorously suggested, "Looks like we're heading straight to an ESRB 18+ rating with this."

"HORNET, PUT YOUR CLOAK BACK ON! That's so inappropriate, what the heck," admonished another thread's original poster, prompting responses like, "This looks so off," and "totally unnecessary."

"I'm not a fan of this," another user stated plainly.

The most likely scenario might involve upgrading or changing Hornet's cloak, but for now, fans can let their imaginations run wild.

View 5 ImagesAs one of the most eagerly awaited games globally, Hollow Knight: Silksong has remained at the top of Steam's wishlist for years. The game made a brief appearance at Nintendo's Switch 2 Direct last month, and shortly after, Team Cherry confirmed a 2025 release window, much to the delight of its patient fanbase. With the announcement that Silksong will be playable at Australia's national museum of screen culture, ACMI, starting September 18, speculation about a potential August launch has begun, though nothing has been confirmed.

Silksong will be part of the Game Worlds exhibition at the Melbourne museum, which will also feature displays exploring the game's design and artistic direction.
