"Hearthstone Unveils StarCraft Mini-Set: Release Date Announced"

Hearthstone enthusiasts, get ready for an exciting crossover with Blizzard's iconic science fiction RTS, StarCraft, through the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set. Set to launch on January 21, this Mini-Set introduces a staggering 49 new cards, marking it the largest in Hearthstone's history. This expansion brings together class cards, multi-class StarCraft faction cards, and a unique neutral Legendary, enriching the gameplay of The Great Dark Beyond expansion.

First revealed during the Warcraft Direct on November 13, 2024, Heroes of StarCraft has been eagerly anticipated since its initial announcement. Now, with the full details unveiled, players can look forward to a diverse range of cards. Each Hearthstone class will receive three dedicated cards, while the StarCraft factions—Zerg, Protoss, and Terran—will each contribute five cards, including one Legendary per faction. To round off this expansive set, a factionless neutral Legendary card, Grunty, adds another layer of intrigue. Hearthstone has already begun showcasing some of these cards, with more reveals scheduled in the lead-up to the release.

The Zerg cards, accessible to Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock, emphasize the strategy of summoning numerous Zerglings and leveraging the Hydralisk for damage based on swarm size. Meanwhile, the Protoss cards for Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue focus on mana manipulation, enabling the deployment of high-cost cards like the Carrier. The Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior classes will benefit from the Starship mechanic introduced in The Great Dark Beyond, with new Starship Pieces and innovative ways to launch multiple Starships, including a special Mech-type Starship.

While the Mini-Set's larger size comes with a higher price point, it remains accessible to all players. A full playset of Heroes of StarCraft cards can be purchased for $20 or 2500 gold, while the all-Golden version is available for $80 or 12,000 gold. For those interested in specific factions, individual packs of Protoss, Terran, or Zerg cards can be bought for $10 or 1200 gold. Additionally, the cards can be obtained through The Great Dark Beyond packs.

To celebrate the Mini-Set's launch, Hearthstone is hosting two exciting streamed events. StarCast, on January 23 at 10 AM PST, will feature renowned StarCraft players TrumpSC and Day9 using the new cards. Following this, HearthCraft on January 24 at 9 AM PST will showcase Hearthstone community creators competing in faction-based matches and mini-games. Viewers of these events on Twitch can earn two normal and two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs, so be sure to tune in and claim your free rewards.
