Happy Gilmore 2 has achieved the most successful U.S. opening weekend for any Netflix film in history, while KPop Demon Hunters has become the streaming service's most-watched animated film of all time.

The Adam Sandler sequel amassed over 46.7 million views during its first three days, marking the strongest weekend performance for any Sandler film on the platform to date—an impressive feat considering the comedian's long-standing partnership with Netflix. However, KPop Demon Hunters, released on June 20, is also making significant waves on the charts and refusing to be overshadowed.

In fact, the animated feature has set a new record as Netflix's most-viewed animated film and reached what the streamer describes as a "new viewing peak" during its fifth week. This week alone, KPop Demon Hunters garnered 26.3 million views, though still trailing behind the substantial numbers posted by Sandler's latest release.

Both films are clearly resonating strongly with audiences and performing exceptionally well for the platform, indicating they will likely continue attracting high viewership and potentially break additional records.

Happy Gilmore 2 serves as the long-awaited follow-up to the 1996 comedy about an eccentric hockey player who turns to professional golf to save his grandmother's home from foreclosure. Sandler naturally returns in the title role, joined by Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Ben Stiller, Dennis Dugan, and Kevin Nealon reprising their original characters.

KPop Demon Hunters is a vibrant animated musical fantasy following KPop girl group Huntr/x, who balance their daytime singing careers with nighttime demon hunting. The voice cast features Lost alumni Daniel Dae Kim and Yujin Kim, beloved comedian Ken Jeong, Teen Wolf's Arden Cho, alongside several accomplished South Korean actors and singers.

Both Happy Gilmore 2 and KPop Demon Hunters are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
