Halo Infinite Unveils New Extraction Mode with Economy

While it may not always grab the headlines, Halo Infinite consistently rolls out new content. Its latest addition is a competitive mode dubbed S&D Extraction, designed to deliver a novel, strategy-focused gameplay loop.

S&D Extraction takes cues from Valve's Counter-Strike but carves its own path. It pits two four-player teams against each other: attackers aim to plant a device at a specific site, while defenders must stop them. Teams swap sides each round, and the first to win six rounds claims the match.

This mode incorporates a full economy system. Players earn in-game currency by completing objectives, which is then used to buy gear at the round's start. Prices for equipment shift based on your performance, and all purchased items are lost when the round concludes.

The cost of gear ties directly to its impact and power within a single round, meaning stronger items command higher prices. Expect more affordable options early on, mid-tier gear as the match progresses, and potential high-end purchases later if you save your credits. The mode will also include a paid respawn option for eliminated players.

S&D Extraction is scheduled to arrive in Halo Infinite in 2025, aiming to offer a fresh and compelling competitive challenge for the community.
