The announcement, timed to coincide with the Mobile Suit Gundam 45th anniversary, included a teaser video on the official GUNDAM TCG X (Twitter) account, launching the "#GUNDAM" global TCG project. The format—physical cards only, online play, or a hybrid—remains unconfirmed.

Complete details will be unveiled on October 3rd at 7 PM JST during Bandai's CARD GAMES Next Plan Announcement livestream on the official Bandai YouTube channel. The announcement will feature popular actors Kanata Hongo (a known GUNPLA enthusiast) and Kotoko Sasaki, along with former TV Tokyo announcer Shohei Taguchi.

The announcement has rekindled memories of Bandai's past TCGs like Super Robot Wars V Crusade and Gundam War, both now discontinued. Many fans are already anticipating this new release, referring to it as "Gundam War 2.0."
