Gothic 1 Remake Demo Debuts Niras at Steam Next Fest

Alkimia Interactive, the developer behind the highly-anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, has provided select journalists with early access to a new demo. Originally planned for Gamescom, this demo will soon be available to the public.

This demo offers a sneak peek at the full game, introducing a new protagonist: Niras, a prisoner arriving in the Miners' Valley. Unlike the original Nameless Hero, Niras' experiences will shape a unique narrative arc within the game's world.

A previous Gamescom 2024 demo showcased Niras' arrival and initial interactions within the Colony. This upcoming demo will allow a broader audience to explore the significantly revamped world of Gothic. Both the demo and the final game are largely rebuilt from the ground up, promising extended gameplay, enhanced orc interactions, and a more immersive overall experience than the original.

The Gothic 1 Remake demo will be featured on Steam during the Steam Next Fest event. It will be freely available from the evening of February 24th to the evening of March 3rd. The full release of Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for later this year on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
