Forza Horizon 5 Coming to PS5 in April

Author:Kristen Update:May 29,2025

Following last month's announcement that Forza Horizon 5 would arrive on PS5 this fall, we now have a precise release date to share. Players who purchase the Premium Edition for $99.99 can expect the game to launch on April 25, while the general release date for others is set for April 29.

The news comes via an official announcement today, which also revealed an upcoming update rolling out across all platforms on April 25. Dubbed Horizon Realms, this update will introduce four new vehicles, a refreshed racetrack layout at the Horizon Stadium, and a curated selection of returning environments chosen from fan-favorite past additions.

Last month, it was confirmed that the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5 will feature identical content to its Xbox and PC counterparts, including all Car Packs, the Hot Wheels expansion, and the Rally Adventure expansion.

Forza Horizon 5 marks yet another Xbox-exclusive title heading to PlayStation, following titles like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. While Microsoft has been at the forefront of cross-platform first-party releases, discussions within the gaming industry are growing around whether exclusives remain relevant, given the rising costs of game development and their potential to restrict sales.

At IGN, we awarded Forza Horizon 5 a perfect 10/10 score upon its Xbox/PC debut, praising it as "the pinnacle of racing game excellence." Our review noted it as "the best open-world racing game ever made," making it a must-play for PlayStation owners.
