Forspoken: Mixed Reactions on PS Plus

Forspoken, a year post-release, continues to spark heated discussions among players, even with its PS Plus free-to-play availability. The game's inclusion in the December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium offerings generated surprisingly positive initial feedback, with many expressing excitement to try both Forspoken and Sonic Frontiers.

However, this enthusiasm hasn't been universally shared. Many players, even those experiencing the game for free, abandoned Forspoken after a short time, citing poor storytelling and what they described as "ridiculous dialogue." While some appreciated the combat, parkour mechanics, and exploration aspects, the overall consensus points to the narrative and dialogue as major detractors, rendering the experience unpleasant for those who engage with the story.

It appears the free PS Plus offering hasn't revitalized Forspoken's reception; the game's inherent inconsistencies remain a significant hurdle. The action RPG follows Frey, a young woman transported from New York City to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Athia. Armed with newfound magical abilities, Frey must navigate this expansive world, battling monstrous creatures and powerful matriarchs known as the Tants, all while searching for a way back home.
