Game director Naoki Hamaguchi acknowledges the player feedback and the possibility of improvements within the PS5's technical constraints. He stated, "Following the PC version's promotional release, we've received numerous requests for a similar PS5 update, and we aim to address this eventually, within the performance limitations of the PS5 version."

While the team is actively developing the sequel, Hamaguchi requests patience, promising further details at a later date. He highlights 2024 as a successful year for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second game in the trilogy, citing global recognition and multiple awards.
