Explore Spider-Woman's Origin in New Marvel Contest of Champions Update

Marvel Contest of Champions is set to bring an array of thrilling updates and new content in April, highlighted by the introduction of the new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, another intriguing champion, Lumatrix, will also make his debut, offering players a diverse range of new gameplay experiences.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, whose real name is Jessica Drew, had a challenging start to life. As a child, she was exposed to uranium near her home, which led to severe illness. In a desperate bid to save her, her father—a brilliant geneticist—conducted an experimental treatment by injecting her with a mixture of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the adverse effects of the experiment but also developed spider-like powers, eventually becoming the formidable Spider-Woman. Players can add this new champion to their roster starting April 17th.

Before Spider-Woman's arrival, Lumatrix will join the fray on April 9th. Known as one of the most lethal assassins crafted by the Founders, Lumatrix uses his unique light-based powers to infiltrate and eliminate targets with deadly precision.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," delves into a gripping storyline where Carina suffers severe injuries after encountering Ouroborus' forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom forms an alliance with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption caused by Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also emerges, adding more layers to the unfolding drama.

Additionally, a new Event Quest named "Spy Games" will launch on April 9th and continue until May 7th. In this quest, Black Widow investigates the enigmatic Eidols and enlists the help of Spider-Woman to unravel the mystery.

Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest with "Dark Bounties," challenging players to hunt down champions targeted by her bounty and claim their rewards.

The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" also makes a comeback, offering players the chance to gather their most powerful Saga champions to earn Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
