Expelled! sees you framed as a killer in a Girl\'s Boarding School, but was it you?

Author:Kristen Update:May 28,2025

Why would anyone choose to send their child to a boarding school, you might ask? Beyond the usual challenges like peer pressure, isolation, and an air of elitism, there's also the risk of dramatic incidents—like someone being pushed out of a window! Of course, that's not typical of all boarding schools, but it's certainly the case in Expelled!, the latest release from inkle, the creators of Overboard.

In Expelled!, you step into the shoes of Verity Amersham, a seemingly innocent schoolgirl at Miss Mulligatawney's School for Promising Girls in 1922. Despite your reputation as a goody two-shoes, you find yourself accused of attempted murder when a prefect is pushed out of a window.

Your mission? Clear your name by any means necessary within a single school day. As characters move and act independently around you, the clock ticks down. You can choose to find the real culprit, frame someone else, or even resort to more physical methods like using your hockey stick to assert your innocence.

An Inkleing of Excellence

It's incredibly easy to recommend Expelled!, especially without even mentioning Catherine Dellosa's glowing review. Inkle, renowned for crafting my personal favorite mobile game, 80 Days, and the thrilling murder-mystery visual novel Overboard, has once again hit the mark.

While Expelled! features a less sinister protagonist than Overboard, you have the freedom to play it straight, pin the crime on another, or embrace your inner vigilante. And, there's a twist—you might not be as innocent as you initially appear.

You'll have to dive into Expelled! to uncover the full story.
