Genshin Impact Leak Suggests Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4

A recent leak hints at a potential return of the Cryo Catalyst character, Wriothesley, in Genshin Impact Version 5.4. This would mark his first rerun after a year-long absence since his debut in Version 4.1. The game's extensive roster of over 90 playable characters presents a significant scheduling challenge, making fair rerun distribution difficult. With limited banner slots and a steady stream of new characters, ensuring each limited 5-star character gets a yearly rerun is proving impossible.

While the Chronicled Banner aimed to address this issue, its effectiveness remains debatable. The long wait for Shenhe's rerun (over 600 days) highlights the ongoing problem. Until the developers implement triple banners, extended rerun gaps are likely to persist.

Wriothesley, a popular Cryo character known for his strong performance in Burnmelt teams, has been unavailable since November 8, 2023. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, suggests his return in Version 5.4. However, it's crucial to approach this information cautiously, as Flying Flame's track record on Natlan-related leaks has been inconsistent.

Despite this uncertainty, the recent Spiral Abyss buff favorably impacts Wriothesley's gameplay, lending some credibility to the rumor. Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured, the remaining banner slot might feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive a rerun within the established Archon rerun sequence. Version 5.4's launch is projected for February 12, 2025.
