"Elden Ring Nightreign Omits Poisonous Swamps"

Author:Kristen Update:May 06,2025

In the highly anticipated cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans of From Software's iconic poisonous swamps will be disappointed to learn that these notorious areas will not be featured. This revelation comes directly from the game's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a similar location was showcased in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents a completely different environment. The absence of these swamps is attributed to the non-involvement of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is famously known for his affinity for swamp locales. It's Miyazaki's influence that has led to the inclusion of such areas in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series; however, he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

On a brighter note, there's a glimmer of hope for players interested in cooperative gameplay. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has been announced with one-player and three-player modes, there's a possibility that a two-player mode might be added. The developers initially excluded a two-player option due to challenges in balancing content, but recent considerations suggest that From Software may yet include this feature. No final decision has been made yet, keeping fans eagerly awaiting further updates.

Mark your calendars, as *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and two generations of consoles.
