eFootball and FIFA to Collaborate for FIFAe World Cup 2024

The unexpected esports collaboration of Konami and FIFA is a major talking point, especially given their long history of competition. However, it's official: FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024 will be hosted on Konami's eFootball platform.

In-Game Qualifiers on eFootball Are Live!

This year's tournament features two divisions: Console (PS4 and PS5) and Mobile. Eighteen countries are vying for the final spots: Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.

The three-stage in-game qualifiers run from October 10th to 20th. National Nomination Phases for the 18 participating countries follow from October 28th to November 3rd.

The offline final round will conclude in late 2024; the exact date remains unannounced. Even if your country isn't among the 18, you can still participate in the qualifiers up to Round 3, earning rewards like 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and other bonuses.

The FIFA x Konami eFootball Partnership: A Surprising Twist

The unexpected partnership between these long-time rivals is certainly ironic. Recall that EA and FIFA ended their decade-long collaboration in 2022, reportedly due to FIFA's demand for a staggering $1 billion licensing fee every four years—a significant increase from the previous $150 million. This led to the release of EA Sports FC 24 in 2023, sans the FIFA branding. Now, FIFA has found a new partner in Konami's eFootball for the FIFAe World Cup 2024.

Download eFootball from the Google Play Store and participate in the current special event featuring a custom Bruno Fernandes and an 8x match experience multiplier for faster Dream Team progression.
