"Dune: Awakening Delay Extended by Three Weeks for Beta-Identified Improvements"

Exciting news for fans of the *Dune* universe—Dune: Awakening, the open-world survival MMO inspired by Frank Herbert’s iconic sci-fi novels and Denis Villeneuve’s acclaimed film adaptations, has been officially delayed to June 10, 2025. This gives the development team at Funcom additional time to refine the experience and ensure it meets the high expectations of both survival game enthusiasts and *Dune* fans alike.

For those eager to jump into the harsh deserts of Arrakis ahead of the official launch, players who purchase either the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition will gain early access starting on June 5, 2025. This exclusive five-day head start allows premium edition owners to explore the world before general release.

The delay comes as a result of ongoing feedback gathered from the game's Persistent Closed Beta. According to Funcom, this extra time will allow the team to “a bit more time to cook” and implement key changes discovered through player input during beta testing. Additionally, the studio plans to host a large-scale beta weekend next month, giving even more players the opportunity to test the game and provide valuable feedback before final release.

While some may find the wait frustrating, there’s still plenty to look forward to in the near term. Later today, Funcom will be hosting a combat livestream at 12pm ET / 9am PT, offering an in-depth look at the game’s PvP and PvE mechanics, including archetypes, skills, and how they all tie together in the unforgiving world of Arrakis.
