Dragon Quest X Hits Mobile in Japan

Author:Kristen Update:May 06,2025

Long-time fans of the Dragon Quest series are in for a treat, albeit limited to Japan. Dragon Quest X, a unique MMORPG entry in the beloved franchise, is set to launch on mobile platforms with offline functionality. Starting tomorrow, Japanese fans can dive into Dragon Quest X Offline on both iOS and Android devices, available for a premium purchase at a discounted price. This version, tailored for single-player enjoyment, was initially released for consoles and PC back in 2022, following the original's debut in 2012.

Dragon Quest X stands out from its predecessors with its MMORPG elements, including real-time combat, which is a departure from the series' traditional gameplay. Interestingly, Ubitu had plans to bring Dragon Quest X to mobile as far back as 2013, showcasing the long-standing interest in expanding the game's reach.

Dragon Quest X Offline on Mobile

Unfortunately, for fans outside of Japan, a global release of Dragon Quest X Offline on mobile seems unlikely at this point. The original version of the game was exclusive to Japan, and there's currently no news on an international rollout. This is disappointing news for enthusiasts like myself, who have spent countless hours immersed in games like Dragon Quest: Sentinels of the Starry Sky and are eager to explore new iterations of the series on mobile.

While we wait and hope for a broader release, why not explore our list of the top 10 games we'd love to see come to mobile on Android? From dream scenarios to more feasible transitions, there are plenty of exciting titles that could enhance the mobile gaming landscape.
