Digimon Story: Time Stranger Leaks Before PS Showcase

Author:Kristen Update:Sep 24,2025

A new Digimon video game called Digimon Story: Time Stranger seems to have leaked through GameStop just before tonight's PlayStation State of Play event.

Gematsu discovered and shared listings earlier today featuring pre-order links for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of this unannounced project. The GameStop pages currently lack images or gameplay details about Digimon Story: Time Stranger, though official information may surface soon.

The timing aligns perfectly with Sony's upcoming State of Play broadcast. While Sony hasn't revealed specific lineup details, they've confirmed approximately 40 minutes of upcoming content. Given today's sudden pre-order listings appearing shortly before the showcase, a Digimon announcement seems plausible.

The Digimon Story franchise predates today's leak by nearly two decades. Series veterans will recall Bandai Namco's RPG spinoff began with 2006's Nintendo DS title Digimon Story. Numerous sequels followed across multiple platforms, including 2015's Cyber Sleuth and its 2017 follow-up Hacker's Memory, later bundled as the Complete Edition in 2019.

Previous games transported players into the Digimon world for monster-collecting RPG adventures featuring strategic battles. While franchise producer Kazumashu Habu hinted at a new Story title in 2022, fans haven't seen a proper sequel since then. Though titles like Digimon Survive temporarily satisfied players, the apparent emergence of Time Stranger could finally deliver the long-awaited continuation.
