MLB The Show 25: How To Request Trade

Trade Frequency slider setting in MLB The Show 25 Road to the Show for requesting trades

Even in a virtual baseball world like MLB The Show 25, players sometimes crave a change of scenery. Thankfully, San Diego Studio's baseball simulation gives you the flexibility to switch teams during your Road to the Show career. Here's the inside scoop on how to orchestrate a trade in this year's edition.

The Trade Game Has Changed

After wrapping up your high school career in MLB The Show 25, you face a crossroads: continue developing your skills in college or jump straight to professional baseball with your drafting team. While you initially get to choose your destination, the reality of sports means situations can shift dramatically. Maybe your current club isn't giving you enough playing time, or perhaps you're just itching for a new challenge.

In past versions, requesting a trade after reaching the majors was straightforward. MLB The Show 25 has removed that direct option, but don't worry - there's still a smart workaround that can get you to a new team faster than a 100 mph fastball.

Playing the Trade Market

Hidden in the Road to the Show settings lies your secret weapon: the Trade Frequency slider. Crank this setting all the way up, and you'll significantly increase trade activity throughout the league - including potential moves involving your player. But patience is key here - teams need to recognize your talent before the trade offers start rolling in.

When other organizations finally take notice, your agent will be the first to alert you. This triggers a series of potential trade scenarios where you can carefully evaluate each opportunity. Choose wisely though - these offers might not keep coming indefinitely. When you find the perfect fit, make your move and don't look back. Just remember to dial back the Trade Frequency afterward unless you enjoy constant trade rumors!
