Defenders Reunion Explored by Marvel Studios

Daredevil's highly anticipated next season is on the horizon, and the creative team is already brainstorming future possibilities, including a potential Defenders reunion.

In a recent EW profile, Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming and TV at Marvel Studios, expressed keen interest in bringing back the street-level heroes of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist—better known as The Defenders.

While nothing is confirmed, Winderbaum stated, "It's certainly exciting to play in that sandbox... We don't have unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book; we're dealing with actors, time constraints, and the immense scale of production needed to build a cinematic universe, especially for television."

He continued, "But considering all those factors, it's a creatively thrilling prospect that we're actively exploring."

PlayDaredevil: Born Again will directly continue the Netflix Daredevil storyline. Netflix previously hosted its own smaller-scale Marvel universe featuring Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. Winderbaum's comments suggest Daredevil: Born Again could serve as a springboard to revive these characters within Disney's MCU framework on Disney+. The inclusion of Jon Bernthal's Punisher in the new season already marks the successful transition of another Netflix Marvel hero.

The upcoming premiere of Daredevil: Born Again on March 4th will be crucial in determining how the series might integrate into the broader MCU. Until then, speculation about a Defenders reunion remains just that—speculation.
