First Deadlock update of 2025 is surprisingly small

Valve's back from their New Year break, and the first Deadlock patch of 2025 is a surprisingly small one. While a major update was anticipated following the shift away from bi-weekly releases, this patch focuses solely on balance adjustments.

Yamato receives a minor nerf, with reduced damage scaling and a lower attack speed bonus on the initial level of Shadow Transformation. Further adjustments include nerfs to Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot, alongside a subtle rework of Alchemical Fire.

A more substantial patch is expected in the future, though the timing remains uncertain. It's difficult to predict when this larger update will arrive.

Deadlock's player count has recently experienced a decline, possibly due to the popularity of Marvel Rivals. However, with 7,000-19,000 concurrent players during its deep beta phase, the game's performance remains relatively strong. Remember, Valve hasn't yet revealed release plans or monetization details.
