Days Gone Remastered on Sale for $10 on PS5

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 20,2025

Days Gone Remastered, a highlight of Sony's recent State of Play, has sparked controversy among PlayStation Plus subscribers due to its $10 upgrade policy. Sony's confirmation that this discounted upgrade is only available to those who purchased the PlayStation 4 disc or digital version, excluding PS Plus redemptions, has ignited a backlash.

Previously available through the now-defunct PS Plus Collection and as an Essential monthly game (April 2021), Days Gone's PS Plus owners now face the full $49.99 price tag for the PS5 remaster.

This pricing has led to widespread online complaints from disgruntled subscribers. A PlayStation Plus subreddit post showcases numerous comments from users who would have gladly paid the $10 upgrade but will now forgo the game entirely.

"They would actually have made a decent chunk of change if PS Plus players were eligible," noted one user, squarejellyfish_, highlighting the potential lost revenue. Others echoed this sentiment, expressing their willingness to pay the smaller fee but not the full price. Several commenters criticized Sony's decision as "stupid" and "stingy," accusing the company of missing out on potential sales and exhibiting a lack of generosity. One user, jackanyon95, pointed out that giving the game away for free initially meant Sony was foregoing potential revenue, making the current restriction even more perplexing.

While some acknowledge Sony likely made a financially-driven decision, the company is facing criticism for its perceived lack of generosity towards loyal PS Plus subscribers.
