Darkest Days: Zombie RPG Launches on Android

NHN Corp's Darkest Days delivers a visceral open-world zombie experience with genuine atmospheric depth. This Android-exclusive survival shooter RPG marks a departure from NHN's usual offerings.

Familiar Survival Mechanics With a Gritty Twist

The game plunges players into a post-apocalyptic wasteland ravaged by a catastrophic zombie virus. As one of the few remaining survivors, you'll need to uncover the truth behind the outbreak while fighting for survival.

Your journey begins in the desolate settlement of Sand Creek - its abandoned streets radiating decay and the constant feeling of being watched. The expansive map offers diverse environments to explore, from arid desert villages to frozen isles and crumbling resort towns, each holding clues about the virus' origins.

Vehicles and Combat

Transportation plays a key role, with players able to commandeer everything from civilian sedans to emergency vehicles. These aren't just for travel - upgraded vehicles become devastating weapons against zombie hordes, though they'll require maintenance after heavy use.

The infected exhibit frighteningly realistic behavior, with some displaying hunting instincts and unpredictable movement patterns. Players can engage in tactical shooting or opt for explosive crowd control when overwhelmed.

Base Building and Survivor Management

The shelter system stands out, allowing for complete base construction with functional facilities. Recruitable survivors contribute meaningfully - producing resources and providing combat support during critical moments.

Multiplayer and Seasonal Content

Beyond the solo campaign, Darkest Days offers cooperative multiplayer against endless waves and mutant abominations, plus PvP zones for resource competition. The ongoing Season 1: "Fake Champion Luna" introduces Luna Bloody, a kendo master with mysterious apocalypse origins, available through the current global beta.

The free-to-play title is available on Google Play Store. For more post-apocalyptic gaming, check our coverage of Once Human on Android.
