Cronos: New Dawn Heads to Nintendo Switch 2 in September

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 18,2026

Bloober Team's twisted sci-fi nightmare, Cronos: The New Dawn, arrives for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 5, 2025.

The studio confirmed the release date during the July 2025 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, pinpointing its launch to early September. The announcement also confirmed the game's launch on Switch 2 alongside PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

This update was accompanied by a new trailer showcasing the game's performance on Switch 2 and previewing the terrors The Traveler will face while journeying through past and future. Alongside glimpses of enemies, time-travel mechanics, and an upgrade system, the footage provides a fresh look at gameplay following the team's recent work on the Silent Hill 2 remake.

"In the future, dangerous creatures spawned from humanity's remnants stalk the wasteland," a description from the Nintendo Direct states. "You must craft scarce ammo and supplies to survive brutal encounters, but remain vigilant even after a victory. If a monster absorbs a fallen foe, it evolves into an even more nightmarish form."

We recently went hands-on with Cronos: The New Dawn and were excited by Bloober's Dead Space-inspired world. Our preview noted, "it feels like Bloober Team has cherry-picked the best elements of the genre to forge a distinct survival horror beast."
