In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, the choice between confronting Wakasa or Otama during the "The Tea Ceremony" mission significantly impacts your gameplay experience. While both characters arouse suspicion, there's a clear optimal choice that simplifies the rest of the quest.

After the tea ceremony, it's crucial to confront Wakasa. She is the Golden Teppo of the Onryo, and identifying her correctly allows for the most straightforward path to her elimination.

Upon confronting Wakasa, she will invite Naoe to her home for a private discussion. As you enter her abode, a subtle clue confirms your choice: the kasa (straw hat) she wore as the Onryo during the prologue hangs on her wall. After some dialogue, Naoe can swiftly end the mission by grabbing Wakasa's Teppo from the wall and shooting her at point-blank range, making for a quick and cinematic resolution.

What If You Confront Otama in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Choosing to confront Otama instead complicates the mission. While you'll eventually kill Wakasa, mistakenly targeting Otama first leads to a more challenging scenario. After confronting and killing Otama, you'll discover a letter indicating her corruption, but this allows Wakasa to retreat and fortify herself in Osaka Castle.

To reach Wakasa, you must travel to Osaka Castle and either fight through her soldiers or attempt a stealthy approach. Even if you manage to sneak up on Wakasa, a direct confrontation is inevitable. The ensuing boss fight, while not overly difficult, adds unnecessary complexity compared to the direct approach with Wakasa.

Opting to confront Wakasa first not only reduces the difficulty but also results in a more satisfying cinematic kill, especially considering her role in Naoe's father's death.

With the best decision for the Tea Ceremony mission in mind, you can now focus on other aspects of the game, such as learning how to gain XP and level up quickly in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* to tackle the game's tougher challenges. Additionally, understanding how to accumulate more Knowledge Points will help you unlock new skills for both Naoe and Yasuke.

*Assassin’s Creed Shadows* is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
