The Tournament quest is initiated by Gyoji in Yamato, likely after assassinating several Shinbakufu members. He'll be waiting outside their hideout. The tournament arena is located at Ominesanji Temple in southeastern Yamato. Synchronizing the Ominesanji Overlook viewpoint west of the area provides a convenient fast travel point—highly recommended for easy access and character switching. Speak to Gyoji at the temple; he'll explain the four one-on-one duels followed by a final champion fight. Ring the bell to begin.

Completing The Tournament

The Tournament presents a series of challenging duels. Rest and recover between each fight (ringing the bell to start the next). Heal with rations, upgrade weapons and armor as needed.

For optimal success, use a long katana as Yasuke, mastering dodge and parry to create enemy vulnerabilities. Utilize abilities like Power Dash and Payback when your adrenaline is sufficient. Knowing your opponent's weapon type aids in counter-strategy.

Here's a breakdown of each opponent:

  • Lady Masago: Uses a Naginata.
  • Lord Suguru: Uses a Katana.
  • Lord Hokuto: Uses a Kanabo.
  • Lady O-Sen: Uses two Poison Katana and throws ranged items.
  • Lord Unkai: Uses a Naginata and can heal by drinking if you stay too far away.

After the final duel, speak with Gyoji; he'll reward you, and the "Test Your Might" trophy should unlock.

Recommended Armor

A high-rarity Long Katana, upgraded at the blacksmith with Armor Damage or Armor Piercing engravings, is crucial. Armor selection is equally vital. The Samurai Daimyo Armor of Legend (from defeating The Ox) and Protector's Armor (from completing a Castle) are ideal. The Daimyo Armor's engraving boosts damage but reduces health; Protector's Armor allows parrying unblockable attacks. Combining these engravings creates a powerful build.

Maximize skill points in the Long Katana and Samurai skill trees, focusing on Combat Expert for melee damage and unlocking Power Dash and Payback.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
