Codenames, The Classic Board Game About Spies And Secret Agents, Is Now Out On Android!

For word game enthusiasts, Codenames needs no introduction. This popular spy-themed board game is now available as a digital app, published by CGE Digital (the original board game was created by Vlaada Chvátil).

What is Codenames?

Codenames involves deciphering secret agent identities hidden behind code names. Teams collaborate, using one-word clues from their spymaster, to identify their agents while avoiding civilians and, crucially, the assassin.

This multiplayer game pits two teams against each other in a battle of deduction. A single clue must connect multiple words on the grid, testing players' ability to infer meaning and outwit their opponents.

The app boasts new words, game modes, and unlockable achievements, incorporating a career-like progression system with leveling, rewards, and special gadgets.

Its asynchronous multiplayer mode allows players up to 24 hours per turn. Engage in multiple games concurrently, challenge global opponents, and tackle daily solo challenges.

Still a Game of Guesswork!

Players tap on-screen cards, attempting to identify their agents. Correct guesses reveal identities, but selecting the assassin results in an immediate loss. Juggling multiple games adds an extra layer of complexity, enhancing the challenge. As skills improve, players advance to the role of spymaster, crafting the crucial one-word clues.
