Developer Sandfall Interactive has announced that the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 soundtrack has topped the Billboard album charts in recent weeks.

As players continue to flock to the hit turn-based RPG, one element receiving widespread praise is its music. Social media buzz surrounding Sandfall's debut title often highlights the soundtrack's quality, and now that acclaim is reflected on Billboard.

Visit the Billboard website and you'll find Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 currently leading both the Classical Albums and Classical Crossover Albums charts. Sandfall also shared that the soundtrack has secured the 13th position on the Official Soundtrack Album chart and 31st on the Official Album Download chart. This indicates players are appreciating more than just the game's story and gameplay—its dreamlike musical score underpins the entire experience.

The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 soundtrack features over 150 individual tracks, with many amassing hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify. The epic track "Lumière" has emerged as the most popular, boasting nearly 1.9 million views on YouTube and slightly over 1.9 million streams on Spotify.

Having a video game soundtrack resonate this strongly with music fans is certainly an achievement to celebrate. It's particularly impressive given that composer Lorien Testard, as Sandfall revealed in an interview with BBC, was originally discovered on SoundCloud.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched on April 24, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass—less than two weeks ago. In that short time, it has already surpassed 2 million copies sold, marking Sandfall's first game as a major success. The title has received such acclaim that French President Emmanuel Macron even shared his congratulations.
