Firaxis unveiled the 2025 roadmap for Civilization VII via an official Twitter (X) post, detailing new wonders, expansions, DLC, updates, events, and challenges.
Firaxis announced through a community post on the game's website that the Civ World Summit event will be livestreamed on February 8, 2025. The event, broadcast live from XPERION Hamburg in Germany and hosted by Firaxis Community Manager Sarah Engel and renowned Civ YouTuber PotatoMcWhiskey in collaboration with Rocket Beans TV, will feature a live Civilization VII multiplayer showdown among five prominent community members, including The Spiffing Brit, ZeratoR, The Game Mechanic, Ursa Ryan, and Maurice Weber.
Civilization VII introduces gameplay where players can mix and match leaders and civilizations, allowing them to craft their own historical narratives. A unique feature of the game is the dynamic shift of leaders and civilizations as eras progress, requiring players to adapt to new bonuses and strategies. Among the highlighted leaders is Tecumseh of the Shawnee tribe.
