Nu Udra presents a significant challenge in Monster Hunter Wilds. Its massive tentacles grant it impressive reach, making evasion tricky. However, these very tentacles offer melee fighters their closest attack points. Severing its arms yields valuable materials, but proceed cautiously; these limbs are potent weapons themselves.
Ranged weapon users enjoy more tactical flexibility. The optimal target, however, remains Nu Udra's mouth. Its near-total black coloration makes it difficult to spot, but this 4-star weakness is well worth the effort. The head is another viable target, boasting a 3-star weakness to ammo damage, making it effective for blunt and cut damage.
Nu Udra possesses a fire affinity. Beyond its limb attacks, it unleashes fiery assaults, even occasionally engulfing itself in flames, inflicting the dangerous Fireblight debuff. Strategically employing Watermoss is highly recommended to mitigate this threat and enable safer attacks.
Struggling against Nu Udra? Prioritize fire-resistant gear. The Quematrice armor set, with its Fire Resistance skill, is a strong recommendation. Consider equipping decorations that reduce elemental damage, such as the Fire Res Jewel or the Stream Jewel (which boosts Water Attack).
Nu Udra's arsenal includes several dangerous moves, but its grab attack is particularly menacing. If you get too close, it may ensnare you with its tentacles, followed by a fiery blast. During the brief pause after the grab, use a knife to break free or utilize your Slinger to attack its weak point.

To capture Nu Udra, prepare either a Pitfall or Shock Trap. However, deployment requires weakening the monster to near-death. Observe the skull icon beside its boss icon to gauge its readiness. Luring it with meat or simply running behind the trap while it targets you are both effective strategies. Once trapped, immediately use a Tranquilizer; you have roughly five seconds before it breaks free.
That's your comprehensive guide to defeating and capturing Nu Udra in Monster Hunter Wilds. This challenging hunt is easier with multiplayer support, so don't hesitate to team up!
